A Letter from Shane & LaTasha
We are Shane and LaTasha, and we’re ready and excited to adopt our first child, making memories together out on the lake, traveling the world, or exploring our favorite amusement parks. We value family, faith, and finding the fun in life!
If you’re comfortable, we would gladly welcome an open adoption, or to get to know you and the life you want for your child.
We met in high school and the rest is history! We’ve now been married for 5 years and ready to share our lives with a child. Adoption was always something we pictured for our family, and since we haven’t been able to have a child biologically, we feel it’s meant-to-be that we should become parents through adoption!
Friends describe us as adventurous, fun, spontaneous, affectionate, stable, and responsible. We LOVE to travel and explore the world; so far we’ve taken 5 cruises to over 10 countries. Universal Studios is one of our favorite places and we cannot wait to share our love for Harry Potter with our kids. We enjoy going to the lake, waterpark, or really being any place with water. Every Sunday we attend church, where we stay involved and happily volunteer. Our goal is to live our life to the fullest, making memories to treasure forever.
LaTasha has the biggest heart, and truly cares for others. She makes others feel appreciated, and goes above and beyond to recognize someone. LaTasha loves being an aunt and stays involved with our nieces and nephews. Her big heart, dedication, faithfulness, and love for God and others, will make her a wonderful mother.
LaTasha enjoys her job and can set her own work schedule; between her flexible hours, and grandparents and aunts, we’ll have childcare covered. Some of LaTasha’s favorite things are swimming, listening to music, making crafts, such as painting, vinyl decal designs, and jewelry, reading, and most of all, traveling. LaTasha has so many good qualities to share as a mother!
Shane is selfless and would do anything for anyone. He’s a devoted husband, and is quiet, smart, and a friend-for-life to anyone he meets. Shane can fix anything, and enjoys teaching our nieces and nephews different things, such as how to win a video game or cook. He will be a patient, loving, and loyal dad!
Shane loves the outdoors, especially if it involves shooting sports, such as target or skeet shooting, or fishing. He truly enjoys time with others most of all, but in his down time he’ll be found playing video games, or watching sports or movies. Shane also enjoys his job working for a car dealership as a master technician for electrical and drivability repair. He’s a great provider and I look forward to raising a child with him!
We live in the city, but our home has a welcoming, farmhouse feel. Our 4-bedroom home has a theater room and a fenced-in backyard. Currently we’re remodeling our bathrooms and working on our future baby’s room.
We have two loving, sweet, (and lazy!) dogs who are great with children and always ready to play.
Our quiet neighborhood is near a lake, great restaurants, and a dam where you can feed the fish for fun. There’s a lot to do locally and within a short driving distance. In a few years we’ll move to our 15 acre farm, in the same town we’re in now, and look forward to raising our family there for a long time.
Our families are excited about our plans to adopt! When we’re together, we enjoy the outdoors and shopping, or any excuse to gather. LaTasha’s family lives closeby, and Shane’s family is mostly in Ohio. We have weekly dinners with different family members, and we even vacation with some of them. Time with our loved ones is always a priority!
Every Sunday we have dinner at LaTasha’s grandma’s house. We have 12 nieces and nephews, so holiday traditions are super fun! We celebrate New Year’s Eve with two of our nieces, spend Easter at church and Mamaw’s house, do cookouts and fireworks for the Fourth of July, and take our nieces and nephews trick-or-treating every Halloween. At Thanksgiving we visit everyone’s houses throughout the day, and Christmas is always big on both sides of our family. We look forward to passing on the importance of family and time together!
We are so grateful for this opportunity to be considered as adoptive parents for your child. We are ready for an open adoption and would be happy to share letters, updates, pictures, and annual visits with you, or with your family, if you would like. You will always have a special place in our hearts!
We promise your child will grow up feeling loved and supported. We promise to model good morals, in a Christian home where we will share God’s love and promises. We will make life fun, adventurous, and filled with good memories. As parents, we plan to support our child’s goals, provide a good education, and to be his or her biggest cheerleader.
