A Letter from Emily

I am so grateful for this opportunity and honored you are taking the time to read my profile. My name is Emily, and I am extremely excited and ready to start building my family with my first child. I am caring, fun-loving, and energetic, and I strive to seek the good in every situation.

I am excited to be able to share my interests with my future child, and I look forward to supporting them in any sport, hobby, or activity they are interested in. I will be their biggest cheerleader and fan, as my parents were for me.

About Me

I have known adoption to be the right choice for me since I was in my early 20’s. I live with my parents who are strong supporters of this decision. They are also excited and ready to assist in the care of this child.

Some of my hobbies include baking, cooking, reading, and spending time with my friends and family. I also really enjoy being active outdoors; swimming, running, camping, and going to sporting events. I have a strong passion for traveling to various places, trying new foods, embarking on new adventures, and experiencing new cultures. One of my greatest adventures was traveling to London, England for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

My Profession

I am a successful Registered Nurse at a local hospital. I have been a nurse for over 16 years in various settings. Nursing has brought me joy since it requires life-long learning and constant change and advancement.

I also served in the Army Reserves. My time in the Army Reserves taught me the leadership skills and the values of honesty and integrity that will always be important to me; I look forward to passing them down to my child.

My Home in California

I live in a beautiful 4-bedroom home with my parents and my sister who are thrilled to become grandparents and the auntie/nanny. There is plenty of space perfect for a child to laugh, grow, run and play. My house is in a quiet, gated neighborhood and has a large grassy front yard and an even more spacious fenced-in backyard with a pool where I am excited to teach my child how to swim. There is a large living room with a cozy fireplace perfect for nights curled up on the couch for snuggles and laughter. My favorite room in the house is the kitchen where I look forward to the time when the child can sit at the counter and watch me prepare dinner.

My Family and Faith

I was raised in a warm, fun-loving family. I treasure and enjoy spending quality time with my parents and my older sister. My whole family is excited to support my adoption plan and is looks forward to the day they can welcome your child into our family with open arms and an abundance of love.

I grew up Catholic and plan to instill in my child the same family values and Christian morals that I hold dear. I attend church regularly at a local Christian Fellowship as well as Catholic Mass with my parents on the holidays. I look forward to instilling my child with the importance of faith and showing them the path of Jesus.

Family Traditions

One of my most treasured family traditions is decorating the family Christmas Tree. We are one of those families that decorates the entire house the weekend after Thanksgiving. We pour cups of hot apple cider, play Christmas carols on the radio, and decorate our homes the whole day together.

We are all excited for the day your child becomes part of this special tradition of ours, and I am looking forward to building new traditions with them.

My Promise

I promise to love your child unconditionally and provide him or her the most loving family and home to call their own. I will provide them with a safe and secure environment where I will teach my child about the importance of family values and faith. I will push my child to enjoy life to the fullest and promise to raise him or her to be a kindhearted, loving, and giving individual. I promise to provide them with a strong education, to encourage them to have big dreams and to reach for the stars and beyond.

More About My Family
My Special Interests

Some of my hobbies include painting, baking, cooking, reading, and spending time with my friends and family. I also enjoy being active outdoors. During the summers, I love being at the lake or at the pool. I plan on teaching my child about water safety since that is very important to me. I want to make sure my child has that life skill. I am a baseball fan and I enjoy going to sporting events and cheering on my team. I am excited for the day when I will be able to go spend the day watching my child at their own sporting events.

My Faith

I grew up Catholic and plan to instill in my child the same family values and Christian morals that I hold dear. I attend church regularly at a local Christian Fellowship as well as Catholic Mass with my parents on the holidays. I will continue to go to church regularly with my child. I will teach my child to walk in the path of Jesus, and my child will know the importance of faith.

Family Traditions

One of my most treasured family traditions is decorating the family Christmas Tree. We are one of those families that decorates the entire house the weekend after Thanksgiving. We pour cups of hot apple cider, play Christmas carols on the radio, and decorate the entire day. It usually takes longer than it should, since we spend half the time reminiscing as we see ornaments that bring up old memories. As we are working on the inside of the house spreading cheer to every room, my dad is outside setting up the lights. I love it once everything is decorated, we sit back and enjoy all the wonderful colors in the house for the rest of the season.

My Home

I live in a beautiful 4-bedroom home with my parents and my sister who are thrilled to become grandparents and the auntie/nanny. There is plenty of space perfect for a child to laugh, grow, run and play. My favorite room in the house is the kitchen where I look forward to the time when the child can sit at the counter and watch me prepare dinner.

Favorite HolidayOne of my favorite holidays is Halloween. Although I don't enjoy getting scared or going to haunted houses, I love going to pumpkin patches, riding on hayrides, and eating pumpkin pie. I also love decorating my house, carving pumpkins, and passing out candy to all the neighborhood kids. I enjoy seeing the creativity in the costumes of the kids that come to the door. As a child, my grandmother and mom made all the Halloween costumes for my sister and me. I still make my own costumes; I look forward to the day my child comes to me with their wish for a Halloween costume and I get to be creative in making that costume.
My greatest adventureMy trip to London, England was amazing. Being there for the 2012 Summer Olympics was an incredible experience. People from all over the world, sitting together in one stadium, cheering on athletes of other countries to win or just finish, gave me a warm-hearted feeling I will never forget.
My favorite vacation spotOne of my favorite vacation spots is to Disneyland. I try to go at least once a year. I find it refreshing that people of any age can go and just be a kid. I think it is important to know that it is okay to have fun and enjoy the moments. I look forward to being able to bring my child to Disneyland and seeing the joy through their eyes.
