A Letter from Dan & Kelly
Hi! We are all about faith and family, music, Disney, travel, creativity, football, and loving our people well. It’s always been our hope to have a big family, and our hearts have been open to adoption for a long time! After years of infertility, we feel strongly that the next path for our family is adoption. We would be honored to get to know you and to be considered as adoptive parents for your child!
Kelly shares how we met: We met when we were both stationed at the same base in the Army. We were assigned to the same task at a training event and found so much to talk about. When Dan and his boss were leaving, their car wouldn’t start, so I offered to jump start it for them. Dan asked me to coffee over the engine of my car while I was helping them. Now we’ve been married 7 years, together for 9, and we’re excited to add a child to our love story!
Dan shares why we’re adopting: We’ve wanted to raise children and have talked about adoption as soon as we started to experience infertility issues. Our hearts have been open to adoption for a long time and we feel strongly this is the right path for us to grow our family.
Together we enjoy:
• Building with Legos
• Board games and puzzles
• Trips to Disney
• Traveling (anywhere!)
I am retired from the Army and love to find ways to help other military spouses adjust to military life. I currently work on base in a public relations and communications role. Staying involved with our Catholic community is also important to me and I enjoy singing in the choir or reading during mass.
What Dan sees in Kelly: My wife is loving, kind, caring, and generous! She is the official family Christmas elf, making things magical for the nieces and nephews during the holidays (and beyond!). Kelly has a heart for serving others and loves to volunteer. She will be a wonderful mom! Kelly is eager to share her love for faith, music, dance, cooking, and baking with a child, and to guide him or her to learn right from wrong, love, compassion, and grace.
• Playing piano
• Knitting and crochet
• Painting and crafts
• Pilates and Yoga
I am a U.S. Army Officer and helicopter pilot. I love to teach others about what I do. If I get the chance I like to show them around the helicopter hangar to teach them all about the cockpit and how helicopters work.
What Kelly see in Dan: Dan is sweet, easy-going, patient, and generous with his time and talents. He is always willing to help others and looks for ways to include our friends and family in our lives, even when we live far away. Dan will love sharing his world with a child! He’ll be a loving, affectionate, attentive father who models respect for self and others. He is excited to teach our child to fish, ice skate, play guitar, build Legos, golf, throw a Frisbee, and all about helicopters.

We call Texas home, but right now we’re stationed in South Korea. We live in a high-rise apartment complex that has a great outdoor community space with trees, walking paths, and a really neat playground. There’s a golf course nearby and we’ve had the best time exploring. Our home is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the train station. We have four bedrooms and look forward to setting up a nursery. Our home is warm and comfortable!
We each have 3 siblings and come from large extended families, so there are lots of cousins for our future child to play with! Dan’s family lives in southern Minnesota. Kelly’s immediate family is in Texas and New Mexico, with other relatives all over the U.S. We also have a close-knit “Army family” of friends who we’ve spent time with all over the world.
We’re very close with our families and stay in touch, even across countries and time zones. We travel regularly to visit our family too.
We promise to love your child with everything in us. Education and structure are important to us, and we will give every opportunity for this child to pursue his or her strengths and goals. (The military offers great education benefits!) We will give space for creativity, fun, and exploring too, and raise our family in the Catholic church, to pass down a strong faith.
We will raise our child to understand our family’s adoption story, from early on. You will always be spoken of with love and respect. Thank you for this chance to be considered as adoptive parents for your child! We welcome an open adoption relationship with you and hope our child will know you throughout their life, if you’re comfortable. We are open to sharing photos and updates, and yearly visits, too.
Thinking of you, Dan & Kelly
